European Community: funds for cultural heritage
Now that the Fifth Framework Programme has been agreed, with nearly 14
billion Euros to spend over the next four years, I'm writing to remind
you of a web site offering FREE information about funds available in
Europe. http://inf2.pira.co.uk/heritage.html The site offers:
* Pointers to calls for proposals in the Fifth Framework Programme
(and others) that could be of interest to cultural heritage, and to
some of their associates such as teachers and librarians. * Short
cuts and signposts to the programme documentation to make it easier
and quicker to decide whether to bid. * Signposts to valuable funding
opportunities that may otherwise be missed, because, though relevant,
they are not labelled as aimed specifically at cultural heritage. *
Many of the funds are for generic issues (eg. training). Many of them
are connected with new information technologies. All have some angle
of interest or relevance for cultural heritage and many are also
relevant for the technical and entrepreneurial companies that wish to
work with cultural heritage as "user" partners.
