Is anyone on the list aware of any research looking at the reactions of the
public to providing interactives or other display elements in museum
galleries aimed specifically at children. I am particularly interested in
the relative merits, from a visitor's point of view, of:
1. Integrating activities aimed at children in the main flow of displays
2. Creating a strand of content aimed at children alongside the flow of
displays - e.g. a series of activities placed at a slightly lower level
3. Concentrating activities for children in a particular area or gallery of
a museum
I'd be very grateful for any relevant information or ideas that might help
us with exhibition planning for The Durham Light Infantry Museum.
