David,
For starters, there was an education article titled "Toxicology of Herbal
Products" published in the April, 1997 issue of AACC's TDM/Tox In-Service
Training & Continuing Education Program. Also, I remember a related
workshop called "Herbs of the Curanderos" given at the October, 1998 meeting
of SOFT (Society of Forensic Toxicologists) in Albuquerque, NM. I did not
attend this workshop, but according to my meeting program, the speaker was
Dr. James Garriott, a toxicologist from San Antonio, TX. You may also want
to try SOFT's website at www.soft-tox.org. They have a search tool and
several links to other related sites, listservers, etc. Hope this is
helpful.
