Is it widely known that the Podium shopping centre in Bath built about
ten years ago was built out of the stone from the bath quarries? Home to
a variety of exotic and expensive restaurants and beyond our price range
clothes shops, the centre may give an impression of how Bath looked in
Regency times. The Great Oolite stone mine exploits two beds in about 3
metres and is quite an experience to visit. We went in winter 93. Visit
conditions may have changed. If anyone wants a contact name mail me and
I'll see if it's still in the archive.
Here's the full list that we've used for Bath. The quarry also produce
marketing material.
