Answering questions like thisl is very difficult without
assessing the patient for oneself.
However if you consider normal anatomy, do quads and ilio-psoas pass
over the greater trochanter? No, they do not! You appear to be
describing perhaps bursitis of the ilio-psoas??
Using ice to decrease inflammation is a worthy modality but you have
to consider the depth of the bursa you are trying to influence.
Studies certainly show that little to no effect occurs at the level
you are trying to treat.
Lastly, you must have a clinical supervisor who should be able to help
sort out some of the questions and flaws I have raised.
