I would be very interested to hear of (UK) examples of two separate lab
computer systems (all disciplines) being "integrated" - in any sense if the
word - by the help of integration software (in house or commercial).
We will soon be presented with pushing the IT of two labs, each serving
acute hospitals and each with their own well established systems, together
in as seamless and helpful way as possible - ideally to permit
reconfiguration of services between them. I am aware that merging of labs
has been fairly common recently in the UK. Experiences and comments would
be most welcome. A small team may wish to visit one or two sites with
relevant IT experiences if possible.
Please reply to me personally if you would rather not publicise on the
mailbase. Replies will be treated in confidence.
