Sources for Medieval Book and Library History
Groningse Codicologendagen, October 9th - 11th, 1996
Rijksuniversiteit Groningen
The Netherlands
Just as in 1984, 1988, and 1992 the Groningen Codicology Days will be
held in 1996. Here researchers (both established and aspiring) and
anyone with a serious - even if not professional - interest in the
medieval book in the broadest sense can meet and share information on
current and planned research.
As the central theme for this year we have chosen _Sources for
Medieval Book and Library History_, a subject which currently enjoys
wide and varied interest in the Netherlands and abroad. A related
theme has been chosen for the congress of the Comite International de
Paleographie Latine (Brussels, October 19th-21st): "The Care of
Manuscripts and Documents in Medieval Libraries and Archives".
During the Codicology Days the emphasis will be on the Low
Countries, although the surrounding areas will also be considered.
The congress will be conducted - along with Dutch - in English,
French, and German (see list of speakers below).
The registration fee is Dfl. 50.00, including coffee, tea, receptions
and the congress folder.
Organising Committee: Jos.M.M. Hermans, M. Hoogvliet, J.P. Neyman,
R. Schlusemann.
