Dear Folks,
A propos locomotives named after saints, some time ago it was suggested
we gather the names of beers named after saints (presumbly so-named after the
monastery where the beer was once brewed). What became of this project?
I can contribute the fact that the most popular local beer here (in Israel)
is named Maccabee. The Maccabees do in fact appear among the saints in
James of Voragine as pre-Christian martyrs.
Cheers,
Michael Goodich
