Hi all,
In conversation with a few people on the GEM Mentoring chat this morning, it was suggested that it might be useful for me to post this link about identifying unions you could join: https://www.tuc.org.uk/find-union-you
The first step is always to identify there's a recognised union at your workplace - this will often be the case for larger organisations, universities or local authorities. If not you have a few options that do work in Museums/heritage: Prospect, Unite, PCS. There's also Artists Union England, UCU (for university employees), Unison. Just to note: not all of these come up at the link above for Museums + heritage sector for some reason!
Anyhow, I am not a unions expert, but thought given the issues maybe incoming for the sector it's a good time to remind everyone that unions exist and can be really useful!
Have a good weekend!
Louise
