Hi GEM,
Greetings from a very hot and sunny Isle of Wight this morning. I hope this email finds you well wherever you may be.
I am wondering how many of you who deliver programmes in and out of your museum for older people are continuing at the moment if at all?
Have any of your ‘reminiscence’ type programmes gone virtual? If so would you like to share how you’ve done it please?
I’ve been approached by a local housing association with whom I’ve worked before to develop a programme for their older residents which they can take part in within their own home. I want to centre this around museum objects where I can.
I’m aware of the House of Memories programme which is know is a model which can be delivered at home. Also Age Exchange have developed some reminiscence arts boxes they are delivering out to their service users.
Just interested to see what museums are doing or planning to do in the future?
I’m a freelancer at home on my own and don’t have the benefit of discussion with colleagues so GEM would be incredibly helpful to me at this time.
Many thanks
Lisa
