Nice editorial, explaining - again - how and why design practice and design research are different beasts.

Subject: How to improve the likelihood of your paper being published
The new issue of Design Studies, Vol. 63 (July 2019), opens with an Editorial celebrating the 40th anniversary of the launch of the journal in 1979, that looks back over the 40 years and some topics raised in past editorials such as the nature of design research. It includes a section addressed to authors on 'How to improve the likelihood of your paper being published', setting out (again) some of the basic requirements and expectations for papers submitted to Design Studies (and academic journals in general).
