Hi Dave,

The poll asked voters to rank what they consider to be the most important issues confronting the PHD-Design list currently, not who is dissatisfied with the list. These issues may be, for the people who voted, reflecting broader issues confronting where they currently work, the state of politics in the world, etc. I know it is the case for me. The suggestion to start another list would simply brush the issues under the carpet, so to speak.
The reason I persevere, and occasionally post when I can’t continue to say nothing is, as the original Australian Democrats party once said, ‘to keep the bastards honest’. Terry Threadgold also once said, or along these lines (see Kate Bower’s PhD thesis 2010, UTS) the questions keep needing to be raised.
Being able to raise such questions and voice my views, supported by reference to relevant theorists, is doing just that – reminding list members that we are not all white, middle class, able-bodied, securely positioned in powerful roles in esteemed institutions in the Global North, or male.
With respect, your suggestion is one such opportunity.
All the best,
teena
