We are recruiting a Programme Manager who will sit at the heart of a new exciting Heritage Lottery Funded learning programme, “Skills for Success”. Skills for Success will see 18 non graduate entry level trainees and 4 non graduate management level trainees undertaking a SVQ3 Museums & Galleries Practice while doing a one year work based placement in museums across Scotland. The Programme Manager will be working in partnership with the Princes Trust, Fife ETC, Museums Association, Social Enterprise Academy, National Museums Scotland to deliver elements of the programme.
The Programme Manager will build and manage these relationships and programme a series of events and training. They will also be the face of MGS’s Assessment Centre and manage and support a small group of volunteer assessors as well as a contracted external assessor.
This programme has tight deadlines and the Programme Manager must be able to work under pressure, with strong problem solving and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
Experience of working with a diverse range of learners
Experience of working with and delivering vocational qualifications
Experience of managing the delivery of long term training programmes
Experience of stakeholder and partnership working
Experience of developing, delivering, monitoring externally funded projects
Experience of reporting to key funders
Excellent communication including good facilitation skills
Project management, planning and budgeting
Co-ordination of an online network and resources
Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Experience in a Lead Assessor role
Knowledge of the museums and galleries sector in Scotland
Knowledge of the sector skills and training agenda
Knowledge of workplace diversity issues
