I think it needs all specialist membership groups (such as GEM) to be coordinated by the Museums Association. I'm sure this issue is not restricted to staff responsible for education/events.
One campaign, coordinated by MA, would have more clout than just GEM. That's not a negative comment on GEM, rather than a call for collective action. Perhaps something could be written into the museum registration scheme?
