Hello all
Just wondered who in Gem land is using Audience Finder (http://audiencefinder.org/) and whether they are using their findings to develop programme at all?
Do you find that there is in house support for the surveying part of the process and have you found the analytics helpful?
Currently I am crunching the numbers and wondering how much our skews are possible to correct with programming or marketing. Eg headline info shows our monthly audiences are 60 % male to 40% female among the survey respondents. Clearly there are things we can do to broaden appeal across a few percentage points, but it may be the case that this shows the nature of the interest group.
Audience Finder suggested benchmarking with another museum willing to exchange data which sounds to me like it could be beneficial to each and cost v little beyond staff time.
If there is another transport or rail museum would be especially interested in sharing findings for benchmarking.
Many thanks
Mary
