I’m starting to investigate the possibility of recruiting volunteers to help during the summer months next year with our learning programmes. The number of visitors taking part in our activities each year is increasing and my core team of volunteers are needing additional support to deal with the pressure of increased numbers. I, and my team, really don't want to change from drop-in sessions open to any visitors to the site to a booking system that would change the feel and limit access to our offer. Therefore we're looking at possibly creating a seasonal volunteer position to work July and August only in order to support my core team of volunteers.
I was therefore wondering if anyone had done something similar to this and was able to share how they had undertaken this and also how it had/does work with their core team and ensuring that both types of volunteers feel supported and part of the team.
