Dear Colleagues.
Some among you seem to think that Design Thinking is totally misunderstood and misapplied by corporate businesses. In fact, there is work going on there that is arguably better and more effective than in academia. Here are two examples: Nordstrom Innovation Labs has produced the best diagrams I have seen describing how design thinking and modern methods fit together, and IBM explains how they are changing their culture through design language. The excellent book Mattias is using for his course contains many other examples. Here are their URLS and the book citation.

Agile Experience Design, A Digital Designer’s guide to Agile, Lean, and Continuous by Lindsey Ratcliffe and Marc McNeil (2012, Berkeley, CA, New Riders) should also be very informative as it explains the modern methods in Nordstrom’s process and how to implement them.
Or so I believe,
