Collaborative Artist Required
London Transport Museum is seeking an artist to work with up to ten young people (aged 16-21): the Johnston Ambassadors, to create a collaborative artistic/creative response to the life and work of Edward Johnston. Johnston Ambassadors is part of a two year HLF funded project to celebrate the 100th birthday of Edward Johnston, the man behind the iconic branding and font of London Transport. Described as ‘London’s handwriting’, the Johnston Underground typeface has influenced the design of the whole London transport system and is seen, in an adapted form, every day by millions on Tube trains, station signs, buses, posters, leaflets and maps.
For more information and to apply, please see the Johnston Ambassadors Artist Brief (attached).
Deadline: 10.00 Wednesday 29 July
