Hi Gemmers
For those of you in England, the next round of Adult Learners' Week Awards is now open for nominations. Nominating is a free and easy way to raise the profile of learning in your organisation, celebrate your achievements and recognise the efforts of your learners and tutors. You can even nominate yourself as a learning organisation!
The categories for nomination are:
1. Individual adults who have inspired you with what they have done
2. Adult learning projects or provision that has really made a difference
3. Dedicated tutors, trainers or learning support people who have inspired adults to learn something new
4. Employers who value training - that could be your organisation or a partner you work with
Remember, "learning" is defined in its widest sense, so it doesn't have to be formal, accredited or done in a classroom. And don't forget your volunteers who spend most of their days learning!
To nominate, just complete (with your nominee) an online form, or download a form to complete in Word or by hand. All nominees receive a certificate, and winners will attend a high profile national or regional event during Adult Learners' Week next June.
It would be great to see more nominations from the sector which does loads of learning but is rarely recognised in these awards.
DEADLINE for nominations: Wednesday 17th December 2014
