Dear Tony,
Thank you. I have been following the work The Cultural Informatics Research Group with some fascination.
I would be very interested in hearing more about your response to 3D printing and scanning within the cultural sector if that is OK with you?
Kind Regards

Dear Alison,
Having recently attended the Cultural Informatics Research Group 10th anniversary conference on 3D imaging in Brighton, I would suggest that it is only a matter of time before 3D scanning of museum objects becomes very commonplace which will then facilitate the 3D printing of objects.

Of course there are other uses for 3D printing, maybe games and learning might be another area of use for 3d printing in the future.
The ability to print out your own museum objects is going to be really interesting for lots of reasons...

Subject: [MCG] 3D Printing in Musuems
Hi all,
I am currently researching how museum professionals perceive the use of 3D printing in museums.
I am particularly interested in how 3D printing is used within museums and the perceived impact the implementation of this technology has on audiences.
I would be very interested to hear (on or off list) from anyone who is using or experienced 3D printing in museums.
Many thanks in advance.
