THE LANGLEY ACADEMY CONFERENCE 2014
BEYOND LANGLEY: TAKING FORWARD THE LANGLEY MUSEUM LEARNING MODEL
Friday 16 May 2014, 1.30-3.30pm
The Langley Academy, Langley, Slough
FREE, all welcome
Conference Chair: Lord Michael Bichard
Keynote speaker: Michael Cooke, Relationship Manager - Museums, Arts Council England
In our second annual Museum Learning Conference we will explore the value of delivering museum learning in
schools and launch a major new research and bursaries programme. The programme will look at how to embed and
replicate The Langley Academy museum learning model.
The conference is an opportunity for professionals from schools and museums to come together to consider these
questions, for those who wish to apply for the bursaries programme to find out more, and to hear from teachers and
students at The Langley Academy.
Bursaries are available for 30 teachers and museum educators in the Thames Valley region who are interested in
working in partnership using museum collections to inspire a love of learning. We particularly encourage those
who might be interested in applying to join the programme to attend.
This programme, named ‘Stronger Together’, has been funded by Arts Council England from their Strategic Fund,
and will be conducted in partnership with the River & Rowing Museum in Henley.
