The Museum of Richmond celebrates the rich heritage of Richmond, Ham, Petersham and Kew through its permanent collection and its exhibition and education programmes.
It is currently looking to appoint a dedicated Education Intern to assist with the development and implementation of its education programme.
Education Internship
The Education Intern will assist with the running of the core education programme and also with social media, office administration and marketing.
The Intern will work in collaboration with the Education and Audience Development Officer for 1-2 days per week for three months.
The intern will gain experience in the following areas:
- Front of House duties such as greeting visitors and groups.
- Assisting with school visits and bookings.
- Helping with the creation and upkeep of education resources and materials.
- Development and preparation of activities or lessons.
- Development and implementation of consistent feedback tools and surveys.
- Collaborating with Museum staff and implementing events and programmes.
- Promotion and marketing of events.
- Assisting the Education Manager with administrative tasks.
- Updating the Museum's social media accounts and membership database.
This role is particularly suited to an individual with a strong interest in history/heritage education and experience working with children.
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to working with the public and is keen to learn more about education in a museum environment.
An internship at the Museum of Richmond will provide the opportunity to get first-hand experience across a wide range of different areas of museum work.
Students or graduates in a subject related to the Museum such as history, cultural heritage, art history or museum studies are particularly encouraged to apply.
