medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Remie was taken far too early. She was, among other things, very good-hearted. Herewith a small example. When Remie was still a graduate student at Princeton she discovered among R. S. Lopez' papers at Yale a reference to a set of microfilms of Genoese notarial archives acquired by R. L. Reynolds for his work at the University of Wisconsin (where Lopez got his PhD under Reynolds in 1942) and held uncataloged in the university's Memorial Library. After discovering by correspondence these microfilms' precise whereabouts Remie came to Madison, worked with them for about a week, and -- in response to a librarian's request -- devoted part of her valuable time to producing an inventory of them that still serves as their in-house guide.
