There are really two issues here. The first if Peter Murphy's inaugural lecture. I'm not debating it, either to agree or to disagree. People may read it for themselves to draw their own conclusions and make their own debate. As noted, it's in the "Teaching Documents" section at:

My comment to Terry was slightly different. Here, I am saying that Terry demands of others a rigorous form of argument from evidence that he does not himself supply. While I agree with Terry that one may argue deductive conclusions from premises, the case remains that evidence of some sort provides the premises from one draws conclusions. Those premises are based on empirical data in the real world. Terry rarely provides this data, nor does he provide data for supporting arguments, nor for the methods he asserts. Thus, we cannot say that Terry is right or wrong.
I think it possible to make an argument that Peter Murphy is right or wrong. To do so, one must address his arguments and his evidence rather than simply to dismiss his position with abstract talk of loops.
