Designers often overlook the fact that people often like to interact in groups. You do get an outer fringe of passive onlookers for whom slave screens sometimes appeal. But it is more important to facilitate social interactivity.
This often involves multiple users all stabbing independently at the same touchscreen. Potentially wonderful for truly collaborative designs but seriously problematic for many 'didacteractives'.

By this I mean, while one visitor is interacting with the touchscreen, people behind them can see what they are doing on an overhead screen. The theory behind this is that people can be looking at something while they are waiting to have a go themselves, but I can foresee lots of issues with this and wondered if anyone had tried this and how they feel it has worked.
