Hairy McClary is definitely the best - mainly for the opportunity to read in
silly voices.
On a slight tangent, "The mole who knew it was none of his business"
features a dog as the bad-guy at the end of the mole's journey of discovery
to find out who pooed on his head!!

Two of my kids' favourite books featuring dogs are
The Great Dog Bottom Swap by Peter Bently &co
And Dogs don't do Ballet by Anna Kemp &co
The latter features a metaphorical journey and the former is just very
funny!

Yep Hairy McClary's gotta be the one for all your dog adventuring needs.
There's a couple of excellent picture books featuring dogs in the Greenaway
shortlist, Black Dog and On No George!

There is surely only one answer to this question!?
Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy (and Bottomly Potts all covered in
spots, Schnitzel von Krum with the very low tum etc etc).
Excellent books in their own right, but great dog books. My kids loved them
and we have kept a set back for future grandchildren...

Greeting gemmers,
Friday afternoon question for you
I run an activity story session every 2 weeks at work and I'd like to use
the theme dogs for a set of 4.
So I'm looking for kids picture books that are set outside including a
journey. I've thought of dogger but I'm stumped for others. I can think of
loads with cats in but not dogs. It's aimed at ks1/lowerks2 Looking forward
to responses and happy to share with anyone Janine Arnos vale cemetery
