Hi Nichola,
I was also at the MuMAE conference Essex mentioned. The presenter was Desmond O'Neill, Trinity College, Dublin. His presentation was entitled, 'Ageing, Learning & Museums'.
Best, Isabel

Contact Jenny in Dublin. [log in to unmask]
She can point you in the direction of some stuff that has been happening over there. Also, she might be able to give you some info re a lecture given in Copenhagen by a neuroscientist from Dublin. The conference was called "MuMAE". He gave some case studies of the impact of the arts on dementia sufferers.Jenny was at the conference but I can't remember the lecturer's name, perhaps she will?
Good luck!

Subject: Museums and Dementia Care work
Dear Gemmers
Apologies for my previous empty messages - can tell it's Friday!
I am mapping how museums and galleries are offering services for dementia sufferers and am keen to hear from anyone currently working on both short term projects and permanent programmes using museum resources and spaces. This can include a range of activities from using music, art, oral history, object handling or any creative practice. Please could you include the nature of the partnership with any care group and how it was initiated?
I am particularly keen to hear about any work which has involved any impact assessments by healthcare professionals or clinicians to monitor effects on individuals.
Thank you very much in advance
Nicola
