Hello All,
I belong to a mentoring scheme run by Lancaster University (my undergraduate uni), and each year mentor 1 or 2 students, most of whom are interested in working in the museums/heritage sector. This year, I'm mentoring a student, Natasha, who's particularly interested in working in education in museums. Natasha has asked me what qualifications would increase her chances of getting the job she wants - a PGCE, a Museum Studies Masters, or both? My instinct is to say a PGCE but, as I haven't worked in a formal education role in museums, I thought it would be useful to call upon the wisdom of the wonderful GEMmers! I'd be really grateful for your thoughts.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Laura
