The questions on the HA questionnaire are quantitative (closed: Yes/No).
It is not possible therefore to characterise them as either instant or not
well considered. Nuance would need to be collected via a more qualitative
approach which presumably the Historical Association will also be doing.
As an evaluator I would caution against assuming that an overwhelming
rejection of something is based on lack of balance, lack of understanding,
lack of depth of thought or indeed lack of anything.
As ever with data it is how we use it that will be the interesting thing.
In some circumstances a statistically overwhelming rejection or
endorsement of something can be more powerful than all the nuance in the
world.
