Good mechanism. But, instant responses are not always well considered.
An overwhelming rejection by the HA members who responded is not really
surprising, but it is disappointing. A better response is more nuanced
and balanced - as shown by the excellent discussion on this list.
Any HA response to the consultation based on this instant gut reaction,
though understandable, will simply be ignored by a government that is
on a completely different wavelength.
