Yes Claire- I agree that the choice of topics is very biased and will undoubtedly create imperialistic attitudes. I am also concerned that the whole of the Medieval period, not to mention the Tudors and Stuarts (and the English Civil wars) are crammed into KS2- thereby implying that these topics are "easier". Yet we know that at KS1 and KS2 the nearer an historical period is to the present - the easier it is to understand. What happened to the idea of teaching relevant history?
