10 Artswork fully funded places available for museum staff or volunteers in the KENT region
Following a successful seminar on Arts Award that took place at the Chatham Historic Dockyard House in October 2012 Artswork are pleased to be able to offer (free) fully funded training for up to 10 museum practitioners (staff or volunteers) to achieve Arts Award Adviser status at Bronze/Silver level (normal cost up to £150 per person). We will also be able to a small amount of support for materials and Arts Award moderation to museums that train Advisers.
This training will enable your museum to become an Arts Award Centre and offer Arts Award to children and young people between the ages of 11 to 25.
The training will take place at the Beaney Art Museum and Library, Canterbury, on Thursday 21st February 2013, between 10am and 4pm.

A short outline of your proposed Arts Award project
This training is open to museum practitioners (staff and volnteers) within the KENT Museum Development Officer sub-region, excluding museum practitioners from the unitary authority of Medway and the three Districts of Swale, Gravesham and Dartford which fall within the ACE Bridge area managed by the Royal Opera House (The Thames Gateway).
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and to applicants who already have an Arts Award project in mind. The Arts Award project does not have be fully planned but an idea of how you would use the training and deliver Arts Award within you museum will be useful. If you do not have a specific project in mind please do apply outlining what future benefits the training would bring to your museum. If there is space you will be allocated a place.
Please be aware that this training is open to staff and volunteers within museums in the Kent region. Places are limited and we may have to limit the amount of places taken up by each institution. Arts Award Adviser training is achieved by the person and not the museum – if your trained Arts Award Adviser leaves your museum you will have to retrain a staff member/volunteer to continue being an Arts Award Centre.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me using the details below. We look forward to seeing you on the 21st February.
