Interested to hear others' thoughts through the day, thanks. Here are mine:
1. Where has social history gone? Even KS1 are not allowed time to find out how ordinary lives have changed! V bad news for younger students especially, women....And museums.
2. Ks1 mentions local studies but only 'significant' events, people & places. Significant nationally or to the locality?Lets hope the later!
3. How is this list of dates and names going to 'equip pupils to think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments ...' As the introductory 'purpose' sets out?
4. When will students.../people ever learn anything about the objective history of other nations? All they get here is a view of the world through the eyes of a dominant empire.
5. No guidance at all on progression of skills?!
6. I'm exhausted! Who wrote this? Gradgrind?
