Hi all,
Thanks for your good wishes and commiserations on the moving thing - aches and pains indeed. Let alone trying to find things.
The 'quiet village' is called Karitane (as in the nurses) just north of Dunedin and on the sea, not that far from Seacliff, where Janet Frame was incarcerated as a young woman - part of it now is, or was when we last passed thru, a backpackers. Will also be spending couple days in Omaru (another 'Frame' town), a town we've visited before - lovely white stone buildings - then driving back to ChCh via the alpine route. Who knows, we might get quakes and tremors, in ChCh or elsewhere.
Will be reading mainly unacademic texts, and writin' some o' me pomes - but will need to think about my teaching this year - all new courses which exist only in outline and in my head at the moment.
So, from tomorrow, I will be mainly off line, and out of snap range until early Feb.
Cheers,
Jill
