Dear Don --
I know I'm late to the conversation, but how about:
Hal Varian? Well-regarded as an economist (although maybe, as a
Berkeleyite, I'm biased), an already engaged in industry at Google.
Dan Ariely? He's now very well known both academically and for his
popular science books.
Genevieve Bell of Intel? She is one of the most prominent faces of
anthropology in industry right now. That may be, um, damning with faint
praise, but she will definitely have some provocative thoughts on the
matter.
Best,
Elizabeth
