Hello Gemmers
I am working on Ditherington Flax Mill, which sadly has none of its machinery or equipment surviving. Is there anybody out there sitting on an undisplayed collection of flax processing machinery? I am particularly interested in the flax preparing machines and spinning, rather than weaving.
If we can't find anything we may need to commission replicas.
Can anyone recommend individuals who are good at creating life size wooden replicas from historic images and other sources?
I am also interested in the smaller items involved in hand processing and spinning of flax and hand weaving into linen.
Am approaching the Ulster Folklife Museum.
Any help much appreciated
Cheers
Marion
