Tony Williams, Hedda Haugen Askland, and Michael Ostwald at Newcastle University have done a series of studies on assessing creativity in architecture and design education. Since assessment requires understanding and establishing learning outcomes, you'll find useful and highly specific material in their work. The final project report contains an extensive bibliography of relevant literature, along with a full bibliography of the papers, articles, books and studies that emerged from the project.
