Dear all,
first of all thanks for the great inputs on this matter.
Is a difficult task, work and ensure the effectiveness of the methods. In
my work, the main method is the contact with the user/patient, interview,
prototype testing, monotoring results, and also feedback from health
professionals and as Mike said, there should be more principles to guide
the design practice in this area.
The purpose is also, even if the results are different than expected, could
contribute to these principles, promote collaboration between the producers
of knowledge, the design and the users/patients, all collaboranting not
only at the end of the process but throughout the design process.
Mike, I would like to read more about the paper you wrote about evidente
-based epistemology, that sugests combining Reason and Revelation. And if
you could please share more about the projects of you suggested,
particularly :
USPC Pharmacology Symbol System
sponsor: USPC
Measure the effects of different design styles on adult comprehension of a
system of pharmacological symbols.
HPV Vaccination Decision Support
sponsor: CCHMC, Dr. Lea Widdice
Design and test a decision support system for patients and parents for
cervical cancer/HPV vaccination
Liver Transplant Care Information
sponsor: CCHMC
Design and test an information and care instruction system for liver
transplant patients, parents and physicians
And I think the contact of Carloina Leyva, on her HPV project, should be
very positive. .
