medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
hi Rebecca,
welcome to the list.
>I am particularly interested in Agnes Blannbekin, whose blood apparently
boils as a result of her religious devotion.
you may not be aware, but this level of Devotion is also one of the necessary
qualifications for full list membership --at least for new members (older ones
are "grandfathered in").
some find this condition to be rather uncomfortable, but i can assure you that
everyone here will definitely Feel Your Pain, so Persevere.
>I have heard of the print edition compiled the Benedictine
scholar Bernhard Pez in the 1700s, but I have been able to find out very
little about this edition. Was it based on an earlier print copy, or
compiled from manuscript fragments? I have seen it referred to as a
'censored' edition of the text, but I have not been able to find out much
detail on what exactly has been 'censored'.
who knows?
maybe actually reading a copy of it will help to find out.
