Talk Science Seminar

The first in a series of seminars exploring the potential of museum collections to support the teaching of science.
Objective:
To provide a practical forum to explore a range of creative techniques which help teachers and their students to engage in object rich galleries and to generate a community of best practice
This seminar will survey:
- what academics are saying about informal learning and schools
- what museum practitioners are doing
- what support teachers need to engage their students with museum collections
We will be exploring:
- Designing for conversation at exhibits
- Barriers to learning with science objects
- Topics for future seminars
The seminar will be a participatory workshop, giving delegates a chance to meet and work with academic and museum practitioners as well as an opportunity to take part in facilitated discussion groups.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided
Cost: Free
(Travel bursaries of up to £25 are available for those travelling from outside London who might otherwise not be able to attend, please give details on booking form)
