Dear GEM members
John Reeve and I are writing a chapter titled “Museum education, learning and public programmes” for the International Handbook of Museum Studies published by Wiley- Blackwell and we would like to illustrate some of the excellent work that is being carried out by you all.
We are seeking (max 10) photographs that could include one or some of the following features:
Internal / external shots particularly of less than usual contexts such as hospitals, nursing homes;
A range of collections / objects/ inter-actives;
Different audience groups particularly young people, third age, families;
Different range of activities from cooking to DJying, guided tours to degree courses;
Use of new learning spaces and resources such as handling collections, Ipads, audio guides etc;
Public participation – Forums, exhibitions, curating;
Events such as Eid, the Big Draw;
Working with volunteers, artists, actors, curators, conservators.
If you are able and happy to submit a photograph, please could you check you have and send us the following:
appropriate copyright permission from the organisation;
the photographer’s name;
contextual information such as: date, place (does not have to be the UK), type of event, target audience ;
anything you feel brings out a specific point about education, learning and public programmes.
We will of course credit you and the organisation.
The publishers’ request TIFF or JPEG files and a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch if the photo is 15cms / 6 inches across.
