Hi
Dame Quickly, as an iPad is a rather limited lass. She doesn't do USB,
> she doesn't do SD, she doesn't do HDMI, she doesn't do file system, she
> doesn't do terminal, she doesn't do bendy angles without assistance.
> And, so the list goes on. For $500 she will give you WiFi (but no

~~~~ "Strange I should be in a Mac vs PC flame war analogue", I type into
my PC while consulting my iPad todo list for things I should be doing
instead of posting this...
* The iPad does have a USB port - that is the "power slot" at the bottom,
you see.
http://apcmag.com/turns-out-the-ipad-does-support-usb-devices.htm
* SD is obsolete, unless you like Wii games or cameras ;)
Use cloud serving instead - my Dropbox integration is magic. And you can
get a cloud enabled camera now.
* Not sure what you mean by HDMI, but I can stream HDMI video to and from
mine.
http://www.apple.com/ipad/features/mirroring.html
* I can also use it as a second screen on any machine I visit.
eg http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/air-display/id368158927?mt=8 but there
are also free apps
* File system sharing can be implemented through apps - Dropbox integration
provides multi-app filing with remote backup built in. Or you could use
iCloud out of the box (but that would be a Steve cultist decision, no
doubt).
* Terminal is not relevant, else you should jailbreak. Why is Terminal
relevant on a tablet anyway - much claiming, but no reasons.
* Bendy angles??? I have yet to see a flexible computer. Perhaps with OLED
advances we will have rollable machines.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/26/sonys-rollable-oled-display-can-wrap-around-a-pencil-our-heart/
* Ethernet is a fair call.
* Flash is dead, just ask Adobe.
One fact out of nine is pretty low, but pass conceded due to special
consideration ;)
Cheers,
Adam
