Hello,
As part of my Strengthening Our Common Life traineeship here at Bishopsgate Institute, I am in the process of developing an online learning resource based around our Raphael Samuel collection. The resource will include oral histories as well as other documents.
We have a small amount of funding set aside to employ a resource designer to work with us, on a freelance basis, on the project.
As a guideline, is anyone able to suggest how many days we might expect it to take for the designer to design the resource ‘on screen’? Is anyone able to give information about realistic daily rates for resource designers? We are planning to make the resource fairly simple: we have strict branding guidelines that we’d like the designer to work with and although it will include audio, we don’t plan to take an all-singing-and-dancing approach.
Can you recommend anyone who has experience with creating online learning resources? We are especially keen to hear from those who have limited budgets and for whom online resources are a relatively new addition to their provision – we also need someone quite flexible to fit in with our limited schedule.
All recommendations will be gratefully received. I’m happy to summarise for the list if others would find it useful.
Best,
Siobhan
