Hello GEMmers,
Talking Objects Celebration Event: Old Objects, New Voices. Friday 28 October, The British Museum
BMuse, the British Museum’s Youth Panel, will be taking over the Museum to share their ideas about some of the objects in the collection and celebrate the Talking Objects programme (http://www.britishmuseum.org/the_museum/museum_in_london/community_groups/talking_objects.aspx).
The Talking Objects programme at the British Museum works with young people aged 13- 25, giving them a chance to engage with objects in the Museum's amazing collection and share their unique responses with the world. Participants from the programme have come together to create BMuse, and this day is their opportunity to share their ideas with you.
There will be trails and talks in the daytime, and we would also like to invite you to an exclusively programmed afternoon, including a screening of the Talking Objects films (co-produced by participants) and a participatory event looking What Ways Can Young People Engage With Museums?
Event Schedule:
12-15:00 – Trails and talks in the Museum, led by BMuse
16-17:00 – Talking Objects film screening
17-18:15 – Talking Objects Celebration: What Ways Can Young People Engage With Museums?
If you work with young people, we would love for them to join in too – please pass on these details to them!
