Hi Tehmina, yes this seems positively ridiculous especially saying that
individual words such as 'Olympic' cannot be used! They are going to
have a hard time policing that! Yes, it does rather put me off but I
think we are still going to go ahead!

Subject: Olympic brand barriers
Dear all,
An interesting but depressing email sent to the UK volunteer
programmes managers list described how an Olympics-inspired blog for
volunteers based in Brighton, itself set up on a voluntary basis, was
depublished because of the organising committee's draconian rules
about the use of anything related to the London 2012 brand, including
individual words such as London 2012, Olympic, Olympiad etc. See:
http://www.london2012.com/about-us/our-brand/frequently-asked-questions.

How are those of you 'taking part' or wanting to theme events and
programmes dealing with these bizarre and draconian barriers, or has
it put you off?
Tehmina
