Dear all,
Here at Porthcurno Telegraph Museum (three miles from Land's End) we're currently seeking ways to use the internet and digital platforms to allow people to become virtual volunteers for the museum. We're working on the principle that virtual volunteering will allow a much greater number of people to learn about our heritage, develop new skills and support the museum. We also hope to attract a more diverse volunteer audience, younger people and people who might be unable to volunteer in person at the museum because of transport issues, sheer distance or disability.
If you would like to be amongst our first virtual volunteers, tell us how you think other virtual volunteers might be able to support the museum, learn about our heritage or develop new skills. The volunteer tasks might take 10 minutes, an hour, be short-term or ongoing. Perhaps you know of people who are already virtual volunteers or similar schemes that have worked.
See our website (http://www.porthcurno.org.uk/page.php?id=286) or drop me a line.
Many thanks,
Larissa
