Dear colleagues
Fingers crossed, my post works this time!
Please find attached a PDF of a booklet titled Good Practice Guidelines for Developing Learning Programmes.
These guidelines have evolved from the work of two Renaissance funded posts working with museums in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Renaissance East of England has supported museum learning programmes in the region since 2007; specifically funding posts to support museums without education officers develop their learning programmes.
The main purpose of these guidelines is to provide a starting point for museums developing learning programmes for the first time. They can be used as a reference guide, a planning tool or a checklist. It is not intended to be a prescriptive document but rather designed to be used during discussions with other museum staff that may already have useful experiences and skills to share.
I hope you will find it interesting, relevant and ultimately ‘usable’, especially at a time when support for small regional museums is rather vulnerable.
If you would like any hard copies of the booklet for your museum staff, volunteers and/or apprentices and interns who are developing learning programmes please contact me and I can post some out to you. (There is a limited print run so first come, first serve!)
Please note that I will be going on maternity leave on Monday 21st March.
If you would like any further information about this work or request any hard copies after this date please contact my colleague Jane Munns, Hertfordshire MDO who will be able to help. Email: [log in to unmask]
