Hi Haskel,
to me these holes look like insect borings too. Apart from the
references Richard already cited the following deal also with insect
modification of bone:

from bone weathering. – Paleobiology 4(2), 150-162

Suite of Dermestid Beetle Traces on Dinosaur Bone from the Upper
Jurassic Morrison Formation, Wyoming, USA. – Ichnos 15, 59-71

Termites. – Nature 86, 245-246

of Archaeological Science 20, 511-523
Keiler, John Albrecht (2002): Bedeutende Fossilvorkommen des Quartärs
in Thüringen. Teil 3: Insekten. – Beiträge zur Geologie von Thüringen

dermestid (Insecta, Coleoptera) pupation chambers in paleoecology. –
