Maltby, M. (2010) Feeding a Roman Town: Environmental Evidence from Excavations in Winchester, 1972-1985. Winchester Museums Archaeological Report.
This incorporates a report on a large sample of animal remains from the defences and northern suburbs of Roman Winchester. The full metrical archive is included in the appendices. The report also includes a substantial synthesis of animal remains from Romano-British towns. The volume also contains reports on other faunal samples by Jennie Coy, Julie Pfeiffer and Andrea Bullock. There are also short reports on plant macrofossils and land molluscs.
