A brand new Kids in Museums website is in the pipeline and we're looking for
an enthusiastic, Wordpress-loving volunteer editor to keep it up to date, fresh
and full of content. Our website is an important part of our work and will
become even more so with the new design and as new projects gather pace.
This is a great opportunity to hone your editorial skills and make a difference
to an exciting initiative.
Training can be provided but ideally you will already be familiar with
Wordpress. You'll be creative, have an eye for detail and be excited about the
possibilities of both the web and the work of Kids in Museums. We anticipate
you'll need to spend at least half a day a week on the website, building to a
day a week in the run-up to project launches. You'll need web access. Kids in
Museums will cover out of pocket expenses.
Tasks will include:
* liaising with Kids in Museums staff and other volunteers to plan updates and
collate content
* creating and populating pages with copy, pictures and embedded multimedia
* editing copy
* writing some copy
* simple picture editing - sizing and cropping ready for upload
* updating existing pages
* 'housekeeping' - checking links work etc
* moderating comments
